Holder of NSW Working With Children's Check
I decided I wanted to become a Speech Pathologist mid-way through High School after my mother suggested that I chose a career in the science field (I previously wanted to be a journalist). Following this decision, I studied hard to achieve an Early Entry offer to attend Charles Sturt University on Albury-Wodonga. I accepted this offer immediately as I wanted to continue studying in a region similar to my hometown, Bathurst. After 4 long and difficult years, I graduated University. During this time, I completed many placements in both regional and urban environments covering a wide range of areas. This included both disability and mainstream services.
5 months after graduating from University with a Bachelor of Health Science (Speech Pathology) I secured a job in Springwood Children's Centre as the sole Speech Pathologist. From there, I began studying a Certificate III in Early Childhood and Care and working in a local Child Care Centre.
My passion for helping children grow and develop their skills has inspired me to begin my own Speech Pathology Practice to allow more children to access this service. This has previously been impossible for many local families due to large waiting lists in the public sector.
